Product Overview
Each stole is handwoven to order and ships within 21 days.
Earthy, warm and full of character, this stole is woven on a traditional handloom in a soft natural grey, flecked with tiny cream slubs that give the fabric a gentle tweed-like texture. A bold red patti (woven border) runs around all four sides, framing the stole completely in colour. The border carries traditional Kinnauri geometric motifs in royal blue, white, orange and leaf green, a design language passed down through generations of weavers in the high valleys of Himachal.
The motifs are not printed or embroidered. They are woven into the fabric thread by thread, which is why a single stole takes days of patient work at the loom. Small scattered motifs across the grey body echo the border, and hand-knotted fringes finish both ends.
Lighter and easier to carry than a full shawl, it drapes neatly over the shoulders, wraps around the neck, or layers over a coat on a cold day in the hills. The muted grey lets the red border stand out, so it pairs as easily with jeans and a sweater as with a kurta. Every stole is made by the women artisans of Pahadan’s, and each one carries small natural variations, the mark of true handwork.
